Hi All,

I already buy ATH M20x several weeks ago. Overall SQ acceptable (by me), but require high volume (on my laptop about 50 - 80 %, on my smartphone about 100 %). Should my ATH M20x use portable amp (for better SQ etc)? What recomendation amp for pairing with my ATH M20x (I'm in thight budget)? Thanks..

Any small headphone amp attached to the headphone jack of your PC or phone will increase the volume. Even the Fiio E6 would probably work. Or, you could get a CMoy amp from eBay. The price goes up from there and it really just depends on how much you want to spend.

I look on Topping NX1 portable headphone amp. Does it match with my headphone? How much "sound improvement" will I get with these amp?

 Topping NX1 portable headphone amp would be nice choice. i also own a M20x and my phone is HTC Desire x which can give a 'OK' power to my M20x.

Are you use headphone amp for your M20x? Or it just "enough" for M20x without amp?

volume is enough for me without amp. i normally listen with 60-80% volume, which is enough i guess. but when i plug in to a amp it sounds even better and sound becomes fuller and deeper. So in conclusion i think if you use an amp then these headphones works with its full potential, but still it sounds pretty good without amp. hope it helps.
 
ie: I tested with Fiio Kilimanjaro and Sony Mini hifi system.
