It might still have a lot of silver in it, while containing a lot of iron. Maybe it is "silver wrapped pure iron cord"

Won't know the quantities of each metal unless somebody does a more detailed analysis on it, I'm afraid. A guy took a part the IC and exposed the bare wires and they were silver-ish which doesn't tell you much really.
