convert from optical to coaxial in terms of sound??

Just curious.

Would it be benificial to convert from optical to coaxial? My changer has optical out only. Would I get better sound if I convert it from optical to coaxial via a converter and use the coaxial input of a dac?

Looking at it I dont think it would make much difference and it would mean more expense, but that is what this hobby is all about aint it??

To me it would be better to get a source with coaxial out than to convert, cuz the way I see it is if the sound quality is of a certain quality going in then you're not going to get better out. Is this right? or would I need to spend more money??

Don't bother unless you have some sort of coaxial-only DAC.

Otherwise, it's just another thing in the signal path.

Good.

I really need to start saving money and dont need to spend any more unless i am going to upgrade my source.

I hope that I could improve my amp in the near future to go with the source upgrade I am in the process of making.
