I have a stack of ironbark in my parents garage, I was thinking of using to to woody my set of Grado sr60i. As far as i can tell it is a VERY hard wood. Is this good or bad in terms of sonic qualities for headphones?

If you think you can work it, i say go for it and see.  I just recently made 2 sets out of different woods, and i think the harder of the two made for a bassier presentation, but can't be sure since i have the softer (mahogany, as it turns out) set on right now and would need to de-solder to double check.

I'll have a go making the ironbark cups, hopefully my tools don't break on me.  What qualities in wood would affect the sound? density, porousness?
