what do you think of it, compared to winamp using the CD-reader plug-in? (playing CDs of course) lets not talk about mp3s or anything else for now

oh, have you guys tried the "enable 24-bit for audio cds" option? on one of my 24-bit (its not a HDCD but it says 24/96 mastering blah blah) I played it..and wahla! the noise floor was instantly lower and everything sounded "cleaner"...THEN again, after playing with it a bit, I realised that it might just be the CD playing softer than before. i turned it up and sure enough..more "hiss"..just like before. I don't know man. I'm getting confused by my ears. what're your opinions, for those who've tried?

(interestingly, the 24-bit option actually works on regular CDs too! try it! it sounds different when enabled or disabled..no matter what MS claims

where is this option? i've never seen it before. probably because of the cluttered interface.
