I have a wrt54gl with the Tomato firmware. Tomato is much more customizable and stable than the stock firmware and just as easy to use. It also has advanced features which enable you to set static DHCP addresses based on the MAC address of your hosts and throttle bandwidth to prevent runaway downloading. I am also running a specially cooked verison at work that only throttles the IP addresses I choose (to cut down maverick downloading). Tomato Firmware | polarcloud.com
