ok, so I came to this forum asking for advice for one of my earphones, in which the sound was muffled, quiet, and dying. someone said earwax could have clogged it and lo and behold, i disassembled the earphone to discover tons of wax clogging up the wire mesh. when i was cleaning it I accidently tore it out of the socket, so now I'm left with an exposed earpiece. now if any wax gets in that main inner peace that the mesh was protecting before, i know i'm screwed. is there any sort of covering i can try to fit over the open hole in my headphones now?

they sound brilliant though. the earwax was definately the problem. and before someone says to clean my ears, I do, everyday. I just have a ton of neverending earwax.

this is for the sharp md-33 model.

There was a mod for the MD33 a while back which involved removing the wire mesh, and Shure e2c wax guards were suggested as a replacement. You might want to look into some of those.

Apologies for bumping an old thread. I found this by web search because I lost a wire mesh from my in-ear buds too.

A solution was to cut a piece of fine wire mesh out of a reusable coffee filter, and use a small pair of bolt cutters to trim it down to size.

A tiny speck of glue holds it in place. Good as new, basically.
