I have a bunch of live performance that are in SHN (Shorten) format, that i would like convert to FLAC so that i can play them on my Rio Karma. I'm worried however that if i do this, it will screw up the Lossless factor.

On the one hand it seems like if you go from Lossless to Lossless, you will truly end up with Lossless and the original content/archive will be preserved, on the other hand it seems like when converting, there's always a little something that's lost in the translation.

Need i worry, or does it work out so that i'll end up with a (pseudo) pure version?

Thanks for your help.

Lossless => lossless shouldn't degrade sound quality at all.. I wouldn't worry.

Well, then that's good news. On to the next step then, has anyone had any problems with DBpowerAMP to do converting and/or coding and decoding?.

From what i can tell, it's a good and trustworthy product, but i'm not sure my source would reveal any problems if there were.

I use DBpoweramp for everything, no complaints here.
