Hi!

I'm new to the forum, so apologies in advance for any faut-pas's I'll make... if any

.

I was wondering if a portable amp like XM4 will improve sound from my Denon AH-D1001 cans? I use them connected straight to the iPod Touch (1G) and since they have only 32 ohm impedance, they're driven pretty well.

So would I notice any significant improvement in the sound accuracy or soundstage by using a portable amp like XM4? Does it make any sense to use headphone amps with cans that have such low impedance at all?

Many thanks and Regards,

Ok, so it seems no reason to buy an amp for such cans.

I was also wondering what options do I have if I'm looking for a slight bass boost. I like to feel powerful sound of the foot-drum (is this the right way to call it in english?) in rock music. iPod's EQ bass boost is obviously s... I guess I have the following options:

- change my headphones to sth like DT770
- buy an amp like XM4 or E5 which has a bass boost option.

Can anyone recommend me which option to follow?

Many thx
