WiFi Capability between iPod Touch and Archos 605 Wifi

i used a touch today and the wifi seems great, probably wont use the wifi a lot but i do like to have the option. just wondering how the archos wifi capability measures up to the ipod's.

What are you looking for - signal strength, browser usability/speeds, other apps, etc.?

For part of that there are mobile Safari v. Opera comparisons out there. One big advantage the Touch has is the browser doesn't require a $30 additional fee.

I returned my 605 partly because it wouldn't connect with some WEP routers, while my touch, smartphone, PSP, laptop had no problems. Paying extra for Opera is a real turn off.

However, if it is just a portable wifi capability you're after, maybe you should consider the Nokia N810

Haven't seen/heard it myself, but I doubt many things would sound worse than the Archos.
