I think that both punk and metal are different ways for people to express their thoughts and emotions.
IMO, punk has a more political viewpoint, while metal is more artistic (though the opposite can be said about each).
Both genres can have songs w/both meaningful lyrics and nonsense, contrary to what was said in this
thread before.
Oh, and never listen to critics. You are entitled to your own opinion, not theirs.
