Yes adding an amp with a lower output impedance would bypass the amp section of the HP-P1. It will sound much better with say an ALO Rx MK 2, JDS C5, Arrow 4G... just to name a few. Of course that also adds bulk, but if you don't mind I would recommend doing so. 

Time to start saving then haha.

I will wait for the new CE one and see how it does. And the price point. Then sell my HP-P1 and get that. Or wait and get separates.
