well yes, I'm building a 2-way system, and, having chosen my tweeter, I'm now looking at midranges/woofers.
So I narrowed it down to three:
Audax HM170G8 *link* (47.5 $)
Seas L18RNX *link* (pdf file) (67 $)
Vifa P17WJ/P17SJ (not much difference) *link* and *link* (40 $)

So? What say you?

Btw, the tweeter is Vifa DX25TG and *link* .

Out of those I would recommend the seas, but if you want to check out a really nice driver try the scan-speak revs. They are a bit more expensive but are really nice. If you want to buy seas check out the Seas W22EX001. It is 8" but is a really nice driver. I currently am using the Vifa PL 7" woofer, the vifa dx tweeter(great value), and a peerless hd midrange in a three-way setup. I am not blown away with the Vifa PL but I got them on a buyout from Parts Express for $17 a piece so I can't complain.

Two things:

1) If you're buying from the US anyway, madisound.com has the Vifa P17 on sale for 29 USD (check under "what's new")

2) There is a well-documented design of a 2-way speaker using the DX25 tweeter and a Vifa PL18 (63.50 each. PE part. no 297-324) on the swedish hififorum.nu. The enclosure measures 220 x 350 x 320 (wxhxd) outside.
The article is here http://www.hififorum.nu/artiklar/hfls1/del2/part2.html (text in swedish). If you're interested I can translate the article or at least the important parts of it - send me a PM

Parts express also has a project with the PL18 (look under "project ideas" in the PL18 product page) using the XT25 tweeter. Modifying it to use the DX25 instead should be manageable
