Which of the Beyerdynamics has more bass?

  DT770, DT880, DT990, T5P or T1? I'm talking bass quantity and not quality.

The DT990s should have the loudest bass.
I own the DT770/DT880/DT990/T70 (but never listened to the T5p or T1).

This depends on your personal taste. My belief is that the DT990 has the most bass. It's V-shaped sound is perfect for most of my taste in music, and the only headphones I'd ever upgrade to from the Beyerdynamic line-up would be either the T1 or T90. However, some others say the DT770 has the most bass, but it is not as refined or conveys the same excellence the DT990 does.

Cheers

i've owned the DT 770/880/990 and the T1's.. twice.

easily 770 80 ohm or 990 has the most bass quantity.

Although i've heard things about the beyer T70p with different pads being quite bassy as well.

I have the DT 770 250Ω, when I first got them, coming from AKG, they were insanely bassy. But with a hundered or so hours of listening they seem to have settled down a bit, either that or I've become accustomed to the low end!

ohm variation does not make a huge difference for  990 as far as i am aware.

I'm a newbie so I am going to ask a newbie question. What specifically is a "V shaped" sound from a headphone?

More bass, less mids, more treble.
Bass = Pretty sure you know what BOOM BOOM BOOM means.
Mids = Vocals, instruments, where most of the magic happens.
Treble = Cymbals, claps, super high-pitched sounds (therefore TSSS TSSS TSSS)
