Hi,

I'm planning to buy a 256MB MP3 player.
The only 256MB players in my price range are the Creative's MuVo TX FM
and MuVo Micro N200.(both same price)
Right now I lean more towards the TX because of
the connectivity w/o the USB wire.

So, is there any benefit to get the N200 and not the TX?
(beside the smaller size)

Thanks.

The N200 is not only smaller, it is 2/3 the weight of the TX. When you are exercising or jogging with a MP3 player on your arm, the lighter player is less distracting.

In addition, the N200 supports line-in MP3 encoding at 96, 128, and 160 kbps bitrates. I use the N200 to record AM radio shows off a small portable AM/FM radio.

I have owned the original Muvo which is very similar to the Muvo TX. Personally, I prefer the the rectangular shape and smaller size of the N200. I carry a short 5 inch USB cord for emergency transfers, so the lack of a plug is not an issue. And in some cases, the bulk of a player/plug gets in the way of some notebook USB ports like the side USB port of a docked Thinkpad X20.

I bought the TX 256 for $110 after taxes at Good Guys.

I love this thing...Its tiny, perfect for jogging or working out (do NOT use and Ipod or running - you will mess it up) Also i can clip it on my shorts and barely feel it.

...but then i heard about the N200 with more features, etc. and i found that Amazon had one for $118 after shipping with 512 MB. So I am making the switch to a smaller player with more memory for 8 bucks more. (i could still return the TX 256)

PLus when i load songs i'm always atmy own computer, so having the USB key all the time is not an issue. Its more important that when it run it is even lighter (if that is possible).

Plus they look cooler.

I have an N200 1GB and is has been a real pain in the *****. I have to flash the firmware about once a week to get the thing to work...

Well, I'm getting a TX 512. It's over €20 cheaper in Germany than the N200.
I don't need a radio, don't think I'll ever use the line-in, so there.
However, the cable could come in handy. The PC's back is hard to reach...
Are there USB male-female cables out there?
