I've never heard the Monoprice cans before, but I own the V55. It's an okay headphone for mixing. Bass is somewhat thick and a little bloated. It's more suited for listening than for actual mixing.

Btw, are you looking to buy a DJ headphone for music, or for mixing/production? If it's the former, the V55 is pretty alright, especially if you can't stretch your budget. However, if you need cans for mixing, you should try to increase your budget a little, and get something like the Shure SRH750DJ or the Pioneer HDJ-1000. Both are better headphones for DJ-use.

  For music

If it's just music you want, and if it's EDM you love, you can't go wrong with Pioneer HDJ-500 or a Denon DJ HP700. These a bit more expensive than the V55, but they sound great with EDM (the whole genre). However, if your budget tops off at around ~$50, you could also look at the AKG K518 LE. Otherwise, the V55 is acceptable.
