I need a 1/8 to RCA cable....I can only find one from radioshack which I bought yesterday for $7 bucks. I know there must have other alternative..I am willing to spend more if the sound is better.

Is it really better than say...my $7 radioshack cable?

Depends what you're connecting. If you have a good rig you will probably be able to distinguish the difference.

there is also the Bolder mini to RCA $112
Or the Straight Wire mini to RCA from Headroom $20

Try doing a Search of Head-Fi

FWIW: I use a Kimber (mini to mini) in my portable rig (between a Sony D-EJ1000 and a TAH). I can't tell the difference between the Kimber and the cable that came with my TAH. The stock cable looks like it might have been made by Etymotic. I think it's a pretty high quality cable.

I don't know about a review, but it is certainly better than that Radio Shack cable. I don't think you need better equipment to tell the difference either.
Let me explain:
I have an average home stereo set up. Sony DVD/SACD player and middle of the line Onkyo reciever. I puchased some Radio Shack gold series IC's for the 5 channel out on that Sony. A couple of weeks later I finally played a cd that I was very familiar with. I noticed that the lows were very muddy. I switched out the front stereo channel cables with some crappy Monster cables and noticed an immediate improvement.
From that lesson I've been experimenting with cable for my portable set up. I will admit that cables make a bigger difference to my META42 than they do to my TAH. But they still make a difference. My starting point was the mini-mini cable that came with the TAH.

edit; I am having a hard time figuring out where to buy also. Headroom, Audiogon, and direct from places like Outlaw and Boulder has been where I've been looking. Where I need 3 pairs at once I gotta find a better price than what I've seen.

That is because the Radio Shack gold series IC's are of poor quality. I have noticed the same thing when compared to some $10 cables.
