Where is the line-out on my Dell Dimension 2300? I plugged a mini adapter into the back where the speakers plug into, but the volume can still be controlled through the control panel. Also, I can't get rid of the mouse click sound. I reset the this to "none" in "sounds", but it's still there.

The sound card in your Dimension may not have a "line out." It may just have a "headphone" or "speaker" out, which is basically an amplified signal. (You also might not have a sound card at all, since many of the newer motherboards have a sound chip built in.) You should be able to find the specs for the sound card or chip on the Dell Web site.
