I thought JandR had it for $350, but I just checked their website and it says it's $399. Are there any lower prices out there (or if one of you guys is willing to part with yours)

Also, is there any receiver that decodes DD5.1 into Dolby Headphone for less than $300?

J&R has a 10% discount that you can use over the phone, just ask about it, most people have had no problem getting it.

I plan on buying with cash. Does the discount only work with credit cards? Is it a physical coupon (that I give to the clerk)?

How does it work?

Absolutely. I bought two from J&R and both times I paid $360 but both times I had to ask for it.

Do you ask for the "Head-Fi discount," or what?

Nope. I just told the sales associates that I heard they were selling them for 360. Both times they checked and said "Sure, no problem".

Nope.

There are very few receivers that do DH.
(Actually I know of only one, the Denon 5803 and it's a bit over $300.

Your cheapest DH route at the moment is the Pioneer DIR1000C.
It comes with wireless phones but you can use any cans with it.
Audiocubes has it for just over $400.

There are reviews of it here at head-fi.
