After I bought an IEM resolving enough to reveal how poor my Galaxy S4 sounded (Klipsch X7), I bought the Dragonfly DAC to use with it.

But I found that system cumbersome, so I began my progress up the DAP latter:

FiiO X3II (not as good as Dragonfly, so I looked elsewhere)
FiiO X5 Classic (close enough to DF sound quality, so I kept it for a while)
Astell&Kern AK120II (utterly amazing. I've used this longer than any other piece of equipment, headphone or otherwise.)
theBit Opus#2 (should arrive tomorrow. I'll know then if it's an "upgrade")

DAPs I've tested for at least a week but never bought:

FiiO X7 (blah)
Cayin N5 (not bad)
Cayin i5 (pretty great.)
Shanling M2 (blah)
theBit Opus#1 (so good I bought the Opus#2)

Can you please compare fuze v1 and colorfly c3?I am using fuze v1 and thinking of buying colorfly c3.will c3 be an upgrade to fuze?I dont want to waste money.

No but I have used rockbox previously on ipod classic. It isn't for me.I dont use equalizer.

nor do i to be fair, i think its a great UI and like some of the themes and ability to simply increase bass and treble.  i'll get the fuze out later and let you know. from what i remember the sansa's always sounded a bit 'conjested' pretty sure the colorfly will be a step up in SQ .... it has a very frustrating UI tho .

I can't begin to recall the ones I've had.

Never forget my first though: A Rio Riot 20GB. It was literally the size and weight of a brick, with a (physically) massive harddrive inside and a small 2" screen. I got it around the time the first iPod came out and I remember thinking that 20GB would literally last me forever and I would never need to buy another audio player, because I would never be able to fill this one up. This was back around the time a 4Mb 128kbps .mp3 file took 30 minutes to download over Kazaa.

From there, I had another handful of Rios or Sansas of varying sizes before finally succumbing to iPod mania. I've had two classic iPods over the past decade and they've been pretty reliable.

A little while ago my latest classic finally crapped the bed and I upgraded to an Astell & Kern Jr. I also have a Sansa Clip+ as a backup/for workouts.

i started with the original iPod back in 2001. Kept upgrading for more disk thru the 5th gen 80 GB model. Then went to the iPod Touch 3rd gen 64 GB. The back to a iPod 6th gen 160 GB.

When I moved from Android to an iPhone I switched tp the iPhone 6 Plus to only have to carry one device. Big mistake, the Music application was one of the worse applications I've ever used from a UX perspective. That's when I started looking and found Head-Fi
smily_headphones1.gif
.

Replaced the iPhone with the FiiO X5 2nd gen. I just bought a Opus #1 Metal and have an Opus #2 that should be delivered today. I'll either send one of the Opus units back or I might even keep both.
