What's this thing (AKG Audiosphere BAP 1000)...???

Heads up on this K1000 amp/processor/dac whatever it is:

Can anyone explain? The seller states it is a very much sought after item, but only ships inside Europe. If a US or other int'l headfier was interested I'd be willing to relay the shipment.

Needless to say I ahve no affiliation with the seller.

I've read somewhere this thing is an equalizer for your own hearing curve. As far as I know you went to an audiologist to get your hearing curve and AKG put that then on a memory card which could be put into that unit. AKG only made a few of them, so the BAP is a rare and wanted thing for K-1000 users. Of course it would only be usefull to get this thing when AKG still has that service for you, which I don't know.

I think if the service is still being offered by AKG, this might be of substantial interest to some of the serious K1000 enthusiasts around here.
