its a dual dac dap better in sound quality than signle dac dap?. this came to my mind because im deciding between HIBY R6 and R3. both use the same dac (ES9028Q2M SABRE) but the R6 has two of them so i was thinkng if there is a real difference in sound quaility o its just the output power.

It used to be a thing with CDPs and DACs to increase channel separation. That was on older DAC chips. Newer DAC chips have higher separation internally already.

One benefit in terms of DAPs and other gear now though is balanced drive, that way each channel can be configured separately starting at the digital level than have an analogue circuit after the DAC chip making a balanced signal of its output. If you need balanced drive, for example with IEMs with relatively low sensitivity or using it as a transportable system with a headphone that would otherwise use a separate amp, then that's one reason to go for a DAP with two DACs.

Note that power consumption not just for two DACs but for balanced drive can be higher, but overall battery life depends on many other variables.
