I have a set of scratch cartridges and I know I am missing out a little bit in terms of "Fi"

. What is the best bang for your buck cartridge for pure listening pleasure? I have been looking at the black, green and blue grado carts. How are those? Any other companies/carts to take a look at? Thanks.

I rather like the Audio-Technica 440ML (AT440ML). It's got a rather "modern" CD-like sonic signature, which some may not like all that much because it isn't a traditional vinyl sound. Very effortless playback though, with incredible tracking (particularly on the inner grooves).

P.S. seems like it may have been discontinued, so I wouldn't wait too long if you were gonna pick one up.

What's your TT? Tonearm weight? Phono section/amp impedance? MM or MC? Budget? TT tweaks? etc, etc.

I think you may need to provide more information to get a relatively informed answer.

Im straight out of my mixer...this is a hobby dj set up (turns in my sig); The monitor level adjustment on the mixer provides more than enough signal gain for the headphones. Anyways...This Grado Red cartridge I picked up is a huge difference from my scratch cartridges. A whole lot of detail. Thankfully I picked up a carbon brush as well.

Kicken back to some tower of power - east bay grease right now. Every instrument is so lively now...this is awesome
