What do you prefer? Touchscreen or none-touchscreen? Flash or harddrives? How much storage space would you require?

Personally I believe the Walkman NWZ-A81x is still worth getting despite it being an older model. Saw the 4GB version (A816) being sold at Sainsbury's here for £33 ($45) which I think is pretty damn good value for money.

i only have 2 desires,

1.the best sq i can have - no amp - yuin pk3s.

2.works easily with a mac.(im no geek and messing with software is beyond me)

i only listen 2-4 hours at a time so less then a gig will work for me.

The Sony's output is a little weak, but the pk3 has a relatively low impedance so I am going to guess it will work. But I'll leave it to someone else to answer that.

Most modern players will function as drag and drop devices on Macs.

A Sansa Clip may be ideal for you if storage isn't an issue.

x2 I would suggest the sansa clip... It's so small, so cheap... yet so good. It's awesome with the pk3's.

i looked on the sansa web site, it sais only the fuze is compatible with mac (under msc mode)

the clip doesnt have that option

Cowon D2 maybe. Should be getting a little long in the tooth, and it has pretty good sq and very little/no hiss. It also behaves like an external usb drive, so it should just plug right in.

The Clip works with any OS that accepts a standard MSC disk drive including Windows, Linux, and Mac. You do not need to install any drivers or software for any OS. In addition to the MSC protocol, you can switch it to MTP which allows for more advanced playlist features and compatibility with music services.

The clip owns. Get one.
