should i keep my volume on my computer set to the middle and just control with the knob. or put the computer's volume all the way up and control with the knob?

I think the conventional wisdom is to max the volume of the computer output and adjust volume with your amp volume knob. This is what I do at least.

aight, thats what i was thinking. ill do that for now unless someone comes and proves otherwise.

I hear that setting the computer volume to 90% is better since at 100% it might gives minute crackling sound due to the sound card or comp components maxing out.

Yeah, some crap cards may clip if volume sliders are set too high, but in general the maximum is the best.
