Hi there,
I currently use a Millet Starving Student (DIY) tube amp and I am looking to upgrade. However, I don't want to go the DIY approach this time round.
I'm looking at the Little Dots and the Darkvoice range, but have also seen some Chinese tube amps on eBay which look fairly decent, but I've never heard of them. (Excuse the pun)
The Ultrasones have a 40 Ohm impedance so I'm looking for something that will work well with them.
The set up currently is ALAC > Fubar II USB DAC > Starving Student (to be replaced) > Ultrasone Pro 750.
I mainly listen to metal and rock music, but do listen to other genres. My budget would be around £350 ($500 ish).

Edit - Oh and while I'm here, stupid question, but what is the benefit of using a pre-amp > amp setup? Such as using the Little Dot MK III as a pre-amp connected to another amp, for example.
