I'm thinking of buying a HD1 in the near future.
As it comes with no remote, I'm on the look out for one.

Will the remote from a Sony MZN10 MD work with a HD1?

thanks

the rm-mc35elk or the rm-mc40elk are the only models i have found to work with the hd1.

the rm-mc35elk is barrel shaped and matches the screen colour of the original hd1, while the rm-mc40elk is backlit blue and has a fatter and flatter design better for viewing text information.

both are good choices.

it was my belief that the the rm40elk (blue backlight) came with the mz-n1 and the rm35elk (barrel style) came with the mz-n10, so.. the answer would be yes based on my understanding.

The RM MC10L from my minidisc player (MZn707) also works fine with my HD3. Its the cylindrical type. Basic functions are accessible, but not "now playing" text.

N1 didn't come with the rm-mc40elk. I had one and if I remember correctly the Japanese version came with the 35elk. The american version came with the older version remote that was used on the MZ-R900. I think the rm-mc40elk comes only with the newer Hi-MD. Its crazy expensive for either of them though. It'll cost around 70 us dollars for it.
