Hello, i have bought a pair of wharfedale xarus 5000 floorstanding speakers
Wharfedale
Spec:
Power:25-250W
Nominal Impedance:6ohm
Sensitivity:90dB
Frequency:30-24k @ -6dB
Crossover:250, 4.5k
Frequency Fb:40Hz
I currently have a old Technics Class AA amplifier, A600mk2
Technics SU-A600
the spec is:
RMS watts per channel, 8 ohms: 40
Rated Power Bandwidth, Hz to kHz: 20-20
more spec here: http://www.vintagetechnics.info/integrated.htm
anyways, i don't think this amplifier is powerful enough for my speakers, and i heard that its best to have an amp that is more powerful than the speakers...
Is my amp ok for them? or will i have to get a different amp?
If so, what sort of amp should i be looking for?
There are just for my room and will be hooked up to my PC, for music mostly.
thanks!
