What mods are there for The plug?

What mods are there for The plug?Anyone tried to change the tube to a one with bigger Diameter?

I did three mods. Pry off the back and put a tiny pinch of acoustical material behind the drivers. I basically cut a snip off my shag carpet for this. Then I replaced the tubes with a slice off a used ink barrel from a dissected bic ballpoint pen. In addition, I burned a hole in a pair of triple flanged silicone earplugs from Walgreens with a hot nail and put them over the new tubes.

Better sound but uncomfortable--tubes too stiff, hurt my ears. Tried snipping the tube smaller but the sound and discomfort weren't worth it. So I returned to the original tubes with the silicone plugs over that. The plugs extend beyond the tubes but I found this doesn't interfere with the sound. they sound significantly better, greatly opened up, better bass, clearer (a poor man's version of the shure and ety). And they block out slightly more sound.

Never discount the acoustical dampening qualities of polyester shag carpet my friend. If I were installing a $20,000 home theater there would be a bit of shag in there someplace. And a snip here or there never hurts.
