Also interested in knowing if anything closed back can come close to the soundstage of the AKG K812 or Sennheiser HD800/s ....
...with more neutral/flat frequency response than the K872 or HD820, neither of which is flat/neutral enough for ANY reference/remastering work.

The widest-sounding closed-back headphone is very likely the JVC HA-DX1000 (DX700/DX2000) but it's far from neutral.
Beyer DT700 / 1700 Pro are already on the 'larger' soundstage end for closed-backs, but sounds pretty average compared to open-backs.
