Yeah, I actually don't know. I have done a little surfing and am finding it difficult to find out what after shave really does. Is it just a cologne marketed to be put on after shaving? Does it do anything besides smell good? Any links to help me out. I checked Wikipedia & nothing on it there. When I do shave I use an electric razor so I supose I don't need it if its only for fixed blade razors, which I think it is. Anyway, this is rather embarasing, but hey, I shouldn't be embarased that I don't know something, nobody ever told me so now I'm trying to find out.

Aftershave stings your face after you shave it

I assumed it was mainly to "clean" out cuts or sores that you may have caused yourself - if it's painful, it's working

Sounds like something of a masacistic product!

I could understand if it was something like hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to clean out little nicks & cuts. The only thing is that I don't see why they need to be cleaned out? I have shaven without it with a fixed blade razor & never goten any infections or anything. I have also never herd of anyone getting any infections from small cuts from shaving, just little pieces of toilet paper stuck to their face. So is it a medical cleaning of a wound like hydrogen peroxide or something else?

it feels good and refreshes you after a shave(menthol and alchol permeates deep into the skin),it fills in your pores so your face doesn't rash out and get irratated (maybe chaff), especially if you got bad razor burn. It has a scent which smells like cheap cologone, if your too cheap maybe to by cologne.

It just feels really good. It only stings if your a little kid, or mcauly culkin.

Another question while my first is being answeared. Can it be used with an electric razor as well? I would imagine it could, but an electric razor is less likely to cause such razor burn & chaffing.

If ya put it on and meet a girl during the day, she won't pick up on the fact that your arm pits smell so bad.

Does it help at all if your armpits don't stink the day long but rather you are an incredably unatractive bloat?

Disinfectant, quasi-cologne & moisturizer, got it.

Lord Carnarvon:

Carnarvon had been in poor health for over 20 years following a motoring accident in Germany. Less than two weeks after the official opening of the burial chamber, Carnarvon received a mosquito bite which became infected after he cut it while shaving. Carnarvon fell ill and, with his resistance lowered, came down with pneumonia and eventually passed away at the age of 57.
