What do you store your CDs in?

its also really easy for someone to walk off with the entire collection. my car was stolen a few years back and at that point i realized if i left my cds my in a book or portable storage like alot of my friends i would have lost alot more than i did.

ive been using wire floorstanding cd racks for years but now with all the digi-paks and paper/plastic sleeves the wire is causing damage. im moving next week and im going to look for a dresser with deep enough drawers for a cd or sideways dvd case. it would be nice to keep all music movies and games in that with some felt lining the bottoms and sides of each drawer for protection.

Don't you remember what you're like at that age?

I don't remember mentioning anything about that.

I use these Case Logic ones:

They're sturdy and inexpensive, but bulky. I'm thinking of throwing away the jewel cases and switching to a more portable binder...but I'm worried I'll scratch them up. Very interested in what other people are using for transportable CD storage...when you live at college, it's rather a hassle to lug a giant case of CDs with you everytime you go home or change dorm rooms. The Slappa stuff looks interesting.

EDIT: These jazzloft cd sleeves are nice, they let you keep both front and back inserts:

Currently have most of my CD's in their own jewel cases. I am looking for a storage solution though. I simply have way too many to keep lying around the house.

jagorev: I sucked it up and humped the CDs, in their jewel cases, in large blue plastic boxes, from whatever room I was staying in to the uni's common storage area when the term ended and back again when it started. Every eight weeks. 300 CDs when I arrived, 600 when I left. Plus my book collection. Now my back hates me.

I use about a dozen or so Case Logic cushioned zip-up "notebook style" CD holders that hold 100 CDs each without the jewel cases, then labeled each one according to style/genre.
