Keeping it down to five is the real challenge.

1. Mr. Tambourine Man
2. It Ain't Me Babe
3. Freight Train Blues (cover)
4. It's All Over Now (Baby Blue)
5. Rainy Day Women

I just can't list Like A Rollin' Stone. I played the 45 too many times in high school.

This is a harder question than it sounds. He is a prolific songwriter with many great songs. Here is a shot at my list:

Tangled Up in Blue #1 for me by a wide margin, followed by

Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
Highway 61 Revisited
Masters of War
Talking Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues

1) Desolation Row
2) Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie (afaik only available on the bootleg series volume 1)
3) All Along The Watchtower
4) Talking World War III Blues
5) Girl From The North Country (Nashville Skyline/Johnny Cash Duet version)

1. The Times They Are A-Changing
2. Hurricane
3. Shelter from the Storm
4. Jokerman
5. Forever Young

However, it hurts not to put All Along the Watchtower, Tambourine Man, ... in the list but I wanted to bring other titles.

I'd give you two very different sets of answers here depending on whether you just mean songs written by Dylan or songs as performed by Dylan. ...

You can answer however you want (like everyother thread aroun here). I did 4 originals and one traditional.

I'm going to add an extra song under the category of funniest: Leopard-Skin Pill Box Hat.

Interesting question.....

My top five favourites at this moment in time would probably be, (in no particular):

Like A Rolling Stone
Subterranean Homesick Blues
My Back Pages
Hurricane
Talkin' John Burch Paranoid Blues
It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry

Hey, I know that's six but Dylan is my personal god and mentor in life so I can take that liberty.

I would say that the best all-time top-five desert island discs of Dylan to my liking would have to be:

Freewheeling Bob Dylan
Blonde On Blonde
Blood On The Tracks
Highway 61 Revisited
The Times They Are A Changin

Sound As Ever

"I said - a hands up you communist, it was the mailman, punched me out" from Talking John Burch Paranoid Blues
