Hi all!

I am looking for an MP3 player that would allow me to plug into a mixer or similar equipment to record music sets. Unfortunately I am currently using a Apple G4 which kind of elimanates a MD player as that would be my preferred option here.

My main concern would be decent sound recorded from a mixer, so looks aren't all that important. Size would be good, but need not a huge 20 GB hardrive. Could even be a flash based player if such a thing exists?

My MAC options so far (as I see it):

iPod - To my knowledge only allows voice recording. Unless people know otherwise??

MPIO HD200/300 - Seems to have direct encoding in MP3. Can anyone verify? As well can anyone comment on sound quality?

iRiver H300 - Has a line-in. Can anyone comment on sound quality?

Otherwise my first choice would be the Sony MZ-NH700 as the sound quality tests seem to perform quite well. You could say this is my benchmark.

Thanks in advance!

The Line In encoding feature is nothing to do whether they are PCs or Mac based system, regardless Creative or iRiver products.

yeah fair enough, but if I ever decided to transfer a recording it would have to a PC, which brings us full circle again.

I thought they can be used as Mass Storage Device, it is only depends on Mac is there any driver built in like Windows.
