Hi
I have been lurking for quite a while now but am still new at this. Please bear with me if I am asking questions already answered.
I need some advise for my home set-up from you head-fi gurus. Currently my music source is an iPod Nano, listening through DT 990s via an old integrated amp-Audiolab 8000A. I want to replace that amp with a headamp, because a) the 8000A is taking up too much space on my desk and b) am looking for an upgrade in SQ, the amp has always sounded a bit too warm and veiled with the 990 and finally c) can now afford the luxury of spending up to USD500 on this upgrade.
I listen to a wide range of music from classical to jazz and bluegrass to pop. I don't consider myself as a bass-freak nor hypercritical of the sound. My desire is to get a system that's musical. This will be for desktop use only. My iPod goes on the road with a UE 5 Pro (and C&C Box when it arrives). Currently am thinking or RSA Hornet or SR-71 but will appreciate any advise and other options.
Many thanks.
