Well, I'm glad THAT's over! Scored (?) my D-777!

Purk, it seems like we were all competing in a frenzy. Sorry you didn't get a player but maybe you can work out a deal with someone around here, since there suddenly seems to be an explosion of D-777s. Plus if you love what your Sharp does, you're sitting pretty! That's one big complaint about the D-777, no extra features...

The D777 wasn't made for extra features - it was made for hi-end portable listening - how many people want mega-bass blurting through there E888s anyway?

But it has mega-bass. Doesn't it? I read somewhere it does. Let me check.

lol - well, yes - it does have mega bass, but it sounds a helluva lot better without it!

*6.1 oz (175g) without batteries
*5 1/4" x 3/4" x 5 1/4"

I think anything with "dual 1 bit DAC" is good!!! I hope my D-EJ01 has that featur!!

Are you sure about the dual 1 bit DACs? I don't think it says that in my manual.

Does the manual mention anything at all about what kind of DACs are used in the unit. The list of features comes from a retailers website. Seemed straightforwardly copied from someplace. I don't have any reason to believe it's in error. There was a discussion of this before, and I think the info from this site was finally used to settle it. So I'm assuming its correct.

I had a Kenwood with dual 1 bit d/a a couple years ago and it sucked in every way especially the sound quality. It had a weak headphone jack and sucked batteries hard. I don't think dual 1 bit makes a bit of difference, I think all that matters is the quality of the d/a converters.

True, but given that most of sony players use the save DAC.... dual one bit would be better than one. Foremost, I think it should produce a morre accurate signal. Quality of headphone amp is alos taken in account.
Kenwood is not as good as sony interm of PCDP.
