i've been toying with the idea of getting my own domain name and actually paying for web site hosting. It would be more of a hobby than anything else, something for me to explore and learn CGI and PHP with, as well as get more familiar with graphic creation. I'd also like to have a cool email addy like me@gorgon.org or something

Anyway I did a quick search on Yahoo and I see there are about 9 billion companies offering domain name registration for as low at $9.95/year and web hosting from anywhere from ~5-40 dollars a month. I was wondering if anyone could help me narrow down my search somewhat? Do you currently use a company that you're happy with?

My requirements:
a. POP3 email address, the more the merrier but at least one obviously.
b. CGI and PHP supported
c. any kind of free software bundled with registration would be nice
d. I expect to get zero hits other than myself so I don't exactly need a dedicated T3 if you get my drift

anyway, thx in advance for your comments/advice

EDIT: one last thing, i'd like to keep this CHEAP! i'm not starting a business here and do not want to have a high traffic site. the only person surfing it will probably be ME, so I want it to be fast and cheap and for it to run smoothly

it's a hobby i don't want to blow a bundle on.
