warrantee with akg??? in usa

i have some akg 701s i purchase 2 months ago, and little plastic part that holds the headand above the head broke. i really love the sound of these headphones, so i havent been too upset about a little cosmetic thing like this. i am using a bread tie to keep it from collapsing. but ive emailed several us customer service people and called them leaving telephone numbers to reach me and havent heard anything. anyone know how to get help from akg? grado is so much better to work with. i had a part break on my sr-125, emailed on sat morn and by sat eve they had a part in the mail for me! i just wish the comfort of grado phones was better, otherwise i would have gotten an rs-2 or rs-1 instead of akg. but the soundstage of the akg is very intoxicating, so much depth! i never would have listened to so much jazz with the grados. oops, i think i am derailing my own thread! please help with warrantee info, as always gratefull for all your help.
