I use the Radio Shack Blue LED at 2MA and Workes Fine In Direct View. You may regret using the Incandesent lamp after you have to replace it often. Moreover No need to wast Power just powering The Indicator lamp That is not good Powermanagement. Do you Know what Kind of Killer Amp Circuit could be made Drawing just the Current you are using to power your Power Indicator.

I figured it wouldn't hurt and would work well as a substitute until I could find a more proper part to use. Until I build the virtual battery supply, I'm using a huge almost-shoebox-sized power supply that can supply 24V @ 4A (but limited to 1.5A by the LM317T). That still leaves room to use the lamp just for fun, for now.
