I recently obtained my own pair of V-Moda Crossfade LP2s and so far I am loving them. Unfortunately the 3-button cable does not work on my HTC smart phone, which I was kinda hoping it would, even if it was a low chance.

I was wondering if anyone here knows of a 3-button cable I can buy that is compatible with HTC/Android phones, or an app I can download that will make it work, or even just something I can do to the cable.

I just want to be able to switch songs and adjust volume without taking my phone out of my pocket every time.

You're just gonna have to use the one-button remote, honestly.  I tend to just change volume by pressing the buttons while it's in my pocket, it works fine that way for me.

I've actually done that myself, only issue is it looks like Im scratching my man parts....

Any knowledge of some apps that may help me use the 3-button. And if not do you know if places like Radio Shack carries the 1-button version of the cable?

I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue, not a software one.  It's due to the pin layout for the TRRS plug, the ground and mic channel are flipped or something like that for the different standard.  No clue if radio shack would sell them or not though, you'd have to call them yourself.

Ah ok, thanks for your help. You replied in my other thread as well, as you can probably tell I went with the V-Moda over the Skullcandy.

I have future plans to buy a pair of M-100s after they are released, as well as a pair of the Canadian made Boomphone Phantoms, since they have some added features, and Ive heard they have great sound quality.

Ordered straight from the V-Moda site, came with the 3-Button and the audio only. The M-100s come with the 1-Button, which may be what you are thinking of.

Possibly, all the videos I watched of unboxings all had the 3-button though, maybe the normal LP came with the 1-button? Also do you have any knowledge of the Boomphones Pantom, if you have time, if not I dont really mind.

I have heard that they have some decent sound quality for their price, the hard case and the boombox feature attracts me as well.

I am one of those people that wants a good set of cans, good sound, good bass, but also with good looks. Like the V-Moda or the Boomphones. Thats why at first I was attracted to the Skullcandy Aviators, which tbh I may still get a pair of. I'm starting a sort of collection of good cans.

Any suggestions that fit the criteria Ive mentioned?

So I went ahead and bought the 1-Button cable from the V-Moda site, and at the moment I am not satisfied. This is mainly because I ordered/paid for the 1-Button speak easy cable and they shipped me the normal 1-Button cable, where the mic is on the back of the button housing. The cable also actually doesnt work. The play and pause feature works fine, but the track forward and track back does not work.

I bought the cable so I could use the button with my HTC EVO Shift 4G phone. But when I double click, which is supposed to track forward, it just calls the most recent dial in my call history. I cleared my call history in hopes of this being fixed but now it does nothing at all. And when I push the button 3 times, which is supposed to track back, it just pauses the music then resumes.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

It's seems like it's your phone's software, not the cable.  Each Android phone has different capabilities regarding the remote control.  Some do support forward and back, others don't.  I say it's a software issue, not a hardware.

Thanks for the answer, I kinda figured that so I went around looking for apps that will make it work. I installed one called Headset Droid and it is working.

Now I think I'll go post my custom shield pics in the correct thread.

Aaron,
Does the middle button of your 3-button cable work on your htc phone?
I am thinking about getting the v-moda cable for use on both android device and iphone.
Btw, there's also Jays Headset Control app you can try on android.
