I just got one of these too but it was for my Dell PC. I've only burned a couple of CDs but it works great so far. My old burner which was a Polaroid was just crap and never really worked very well.

I have a much older Plextor 8x speed SCSI burner (PX-R820T). Rarely have gotten a coaster, only thanks to me trying to run more than a handful of apps at the same time. Four years and still knocking cds out (as many as 40-50 cdr's a day when i'm busy).

This new technology with getting better sounding cds seems VERY interesting. Whenever i decide to spring for a new burner i'll definitely be curious to hear any differences.
