USB Speakers for macintosh question

hello all;

I have a discount coupon from Apple, and was thinking of usng it towards computer speakers. Searches here seem to agree that most speakers designed for computers suck, so I guess my question is-what sucks less?

Can't audition any in my neck of the great white norht, but the choices in CAD money are the Soundsticks for $300., Edirol MA-10D Black 2.0 Speakers

Are any of these worth the money to ugrade from the Apple pro speakes that came with the system? I'll be using them to listen to internet radio most of the time.

Almost anything is an upgrade from the Apple Pro speakers

The soundsticks are just a little step up from the Apple Pros. The JBL Creatures actually sound fairly decent for computer speakers, and fit in with the Mac aesthetic.

Edirol & Klipsch have both been reviewed well. I personally don't like Klipsch because I find the upper & upper mids to be "foggy" (kind of makes pianos sound synthetic, etc).

The Edirols have on-board DAC and more functions for the money. They probably sound the most like real speakers of the bunch.

The Creatures aren't very powerful though, and are meant for softer music. If you like their styling and sound, go to Newegg and futz over to the JBL section, the upgraded version..."champagne" I think, play a lot louder, but sound essentially the same. (they satellites are shaped like wine glasses, hence the name).
