I've tried a few IEMs and currently have the Dunu Mirai, Moondrop Variations and I/O Volare, but none of them really have noteworthy base imo. The best bass in an IEM that I've tried was the Acoustune HS 1650 CU, but it kinda died somehow. I think the Mirai is a really good IEM but it doesn't quite have that feeling of air being pushed that was in the Acoustune, even if it sounds better, from memory at least.

I've never tried an all BA IEM so I'm not quite sure I understand what BA bass means, but I am thinking about the Symphonium Crimson. I have a Topping G5 which I hope will be a good enough amp, but for portable use I'm going to get a Questyle M15i. Is BA bass similar to planar bass? I'm fine with a quicker bass response with fast decay as long as it has that impact. I've tried the Letshuoer S12 Pro and a HifiMan Edition XS, and when I EQ'd the XS it was really impactful; yes it's a full sized headphone but I think it wasn't that much different to an IEM at least imo.

The only real gripe I have with the Mirai is the bass, otherwise I really like the treble and I think it feels like quite a spacious IEM, not that I value soundstage that highly as the Edition XS really didn't feel that different to me. The bass feelings "impactful" I suppose but the initial impact feels kinda soft and the rumble feels almost subdued? From my understanding, the Crimson has that hard initial impact I'm looking for, even if the decay is really fast, but I'm not sure if it's gonna slam as hard as I'd like, especially if for whatever reason I decide to use it with my Apple dongle. Another option I'm considering is the Elysian Apostle but because it's so new, there's not a lot of information out there and I'm not sure if the bass is gonna be that good considering a lot of reviews mention that Elysian IEMs don't have the greatest bass, and the treble looks rolled off, at least in graphs, which might be misleading but in the absence of a demo session, I'm just gonna take it at face value.

My music preferences include stuff like hardstyle and other similar genres, K-Pop and artists like Playboi Carti and Ken Carson, in case that's of any help. Any recs that have technicalities similar to the Mirai, but with better bass and a similar-ish tuning (preferably with a bit more midbass) around 1-1.5k?

Sounds like a used 64 Audio U12t would be right up your alley. Precog was a big fan of the U12t and looks like it essentially was his reference for his target curve, so a lot of that went into the Mirai. U12t is known to have great bass for an all BA set and would fulfill that midbass boost.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. Have you tried a U12t, and if so how close would you say the bass is to like a really good DD? Maybe not something end-game, but compared to say the U4s, like in terms of physicality?

Unfortunately I have not tried the U12t, but hopefully others can chime in. I've tried the Volur which has fantastic DD bass, and occasionally pops up used for sale near the upper end of your range.
