Hi guys, new here, i bought a month and a half ago an MC-350 as my entry point into a studio-reference "audiophile" headphone, my impressions as somebody who doesn't have much experience with this quality of gear is that these are the most "clearest" and most "analytical" headphones i have ever heard so far, everything sounds so crisp(at least, compared to all the cheap stuff i ran through in the years leading up to this lol).

I was interested in getting a compare and contrast with more talked about gear like the HD560s for example, since in my searches online there doesn't seem to be alot of talk of the mc350s from the big audiophile circles. I am very interested in what is called the "neutral and balanced" sound signature but am not sure if buying something like a HD560s(which is around $50 dollars off on Amazon as of the time of this writing) would be much of an "upgrade" to my current Mackie's, Is the sound signature and overall quality different enough to merit a purchase? or should i upgrade to a higher price bracket, or to a different sound signature altogether to merit the purchase?. In the case of the 560s i wanna make sure im not splurging on a minimal difference if im gonna be forced to invest on an amp to run this one(given the impedance on this thing from what i've researched), alternative reccomendations are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

This is the most logical upgrade path with or without an amp:

In regards to the HD560, it will sound fine without an amp. However, if you are going to pay $150 for an HD560, then the HD58X is going for the same price, but a limited time and will also sound fine without an amp:

Yeah, all of these headphones will sound better with an amp, but all of them will still sound fine without an amp and the open-back sound will definitely be different and better in almost everything, except bass and usually isolation. In that case, your closed-back almost always works better. :)
