Hello,

What would be a decent upgrade from a Zapfiltered D2.5?

This is the question remaining after getting no responses to my previous questions for a DIY mod-ready DAC a la D2.5.

Please let us know!

No upgrade possible to a Zhaolu D2.5 w/ Zapfilter?

Please respond if you think this is not true.

A lot of the newer folks don't even know what a Zhaolu is, let alone a zapped one....

I still have my D2.5C & D3.0 (non-zapped).

Look at the Audio-GD offerings...Great stuff...

Thanks for your reply:
Hmm.
So who can give a comparison review between a Zapfiltered Zhaolu versus the Audio-GD offerings?
Or which Audio-GD review (non-balanced) is considered a good read?

Which S/PDIF (coax?) switch would work well with these DACs?

How would the DAC chips compare?

ES9018
WM8741
PCM5102

Any differences in general versus differences in the Audio-GD implementation?

And maybe then compare to DAC chip in the D2.5C, the CS-4398.

No suggestions for recent DACS with discrete stage after the DAC chip that could compare?

Still no suggestions of gear that is +/- at the same level as the Zhaolu or even a slight upgrade?
