It's the Sony D-350 from 1989.

Telephone? And I was hoping with a styling like that it would include AM-FM, a shortwave reciever and a satellite tracking system!

It is the D-350. I had one of these units. The rechargable battery lasted for about a CD's worth but the sound quality was quite good (and loud).

Skipped too much for portable use though.

Nice build quality and ergonomics - not sure what they would be worth now though.

Thanks, Peddler. I was curious about the unit. Acutally I like the styling and what seems to be a design with practical ergonomics. (Buttons not hidden along the sides of the unit)It just looks well-built, like a unit that you can punch in and out with. But it's probably too dated. I appreciate everyone's info!
