I just plugged my alo imod lod into a regular ipod lineout, because my imod is not here yet.

It kinda looks like there is a gap in the pins on one side.

This cable is new and I didnt really take a close look to see if it already came like this.

Will the cable be fine if plugged into a regular ipod lineout?

Or did i just completely ruin my brand new cable?

Anyone? Ken?

Thanks

It should be okay. There's actually a few experiments being performed here with caps built into IC's. It really makes a difference.

yes it's okay. Your cables will just work fine. The caps inside the dock is meant for DC protection as the iMod DC current is too large.

Probably ok. Not all pins are used.

Yep it should be okay I make this error when I am in my shop also reaching for the wrong cable. It is possible to damage your gear if you do not block the DC offset but usually you just get a really bad sound when not using the proper iMod cable.
