Ultrasone edition 15 or edition 11?

anyone hear both the Ultrasone edition 15 and 11, if only 1 of the 2--why did you like it?

Edition 15 is overall much better than 11. Ed11 is very excitement and energetic V-shape. Ed15 has beautiful midrange and overall sound signature is much calmer.

aside from the midrange on the 15, is the edition 11 better?

No. Ed11 costs 999 EUR and Ed15 - 2777 EUR, so there is no miracle and Ed15 is technically better

is it the best open back you've heard?

Not really. Overall sound quality is better in Focal Utopia, HD800 and ATH-ADX5000. Ed15 is a little overpriced, but if you like smooth sound with full bass - it is very interesting option. And it sounds very well from high quality DAP.
