Just recently Ultra Micro has started to become very hot, much quicker than usual. Not quite uncomfortable to the touch, but not far away. I also use the Ultra Micro DAC which never gets as hot, which I believe is normal for that unit.
Now I can't remember if this development coincided with me getting a new PC, or maybe the weather getting hotter. Maybe I'm just going a bit mad...
 
Is this normal? The heat from the amp, not the bit about going mad.

The Ultra Micro can run quite hot.  It shouldn't be so hot that you can't keep your hand on it.  

 
The warmer weather may have exacerbated things for you.  I have mine at work these days and they're always operating in an air conditioned environment so....
