My cousin (in a misguided attempt to change the resolution) went ahead and changed the dpi setting on her work computer. It's running XP. Anyhoo, when it starts up it goes all well and good up to the "Windows XP" screen, after which she's just left with a black screen. I have no idea what to tell her because I haven't used XP in a long time and I've never messed with dpi settings on any computer I've ever had. Other than suggesting she try and boot into safe mode, I can't think of anything else to tell her. Does anyone have any other ideas. I'm having a massive brain fart on this one.

safe mode (vga mode, really) and then set it back.

Here's a dumb question... how do you boot into safe mode? For the life of me I can't remember how to do it.

Hold F8 after the BIOS screen.
